Is “Change Starts At the Top” the New “Hang in There”?

I’m so sick of seeing the same advice posted (and liked) over and over again, like “change starts at the top!” or whatever.
Snooooze.
- Do your company’s leaders need to work on themselves? Sure, probably so, yeah.
- Is it your job to fix them? Uh, nope! That’s a waste of perfectly good energy. If they wanted to do things differently they’d already be working on it.
Instead of trying to change your employer, focus on your own career.
Start working on that question of what is it that you really want to do for work, because that is the first step toward getting an actual plan together.
It’s not necessarily easy, but it is so worth it.
And – you don’t have to do it alone. How would you like to work with me?
